Students at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff recently joined their counterparts at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville during U of A’s Poultry Science Club meeting and career fair, Dr. Adedeji Adetunji, assistant professor for the UAPB Department of Agriculture, said. “Our students enjoyed networking with students and faculty at the U of A while sourcing graduate and internship opportunities with poultry-allied industries,” he said. “The trip was facilitated to create awareness among students about the poultry science 3+1 Program between the two universities.” The 3 + 1 Program in Poultry Science allows UAPB students to transfer to the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in their senior year and graduate with dual degrees in animal science and poultry science. #UAPB #Uark #PoultryScience #Arkansas #Agriculture

A celebration of Diwali was recently organized at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Aesthetically Pleasing, an organization on campus that promotes inclusion and diversity through fashion, culture and style, hosted the event in coordination with the UAPB Office of International Programs and Studies. Jeunice Maxime, founder of Aesthetically Pleasing, said the purpose of the event was to bring the campus community together for a vibrant and meaningful cultural event that would allow students to experience and appreciate the rich cultural heritage associated with the holiday. Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a major Hindu festival that celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil, Maxime said.
