Dr. Daniela Jauk-Ajamie, one of our fantastic ACE Scholars, has been awarded the 2025 Applied, Clinical, and Public Sociology Award from the North Central Sociological Association for her work on "Serenity in the Garden," a therapeutic horticulture program at a women's correctional facility in Akron. Launched in 2019, the program fosters rehabilitation through gardening, improving food quality, reentry skills, and institutional connections. Its success has influenced policy discussions, including at the United Nations, and continues through partnerships with UA and Let's Grow Akron. Congratulations Dr. Jauk-Ajamie! Your work in Criminal Justice and Sociology is so deserving of this award! #ACEScolar #CommunityEngagedLearning #AkronCommunityEngagedScholar
