Data scientists make an impact. Whether it’s analyzing health data to improve patient outcomes, helping businesses make smarter decisions, or supporting critical research needs, the ability to analyze huge data sets is a skillset that can change lives for the better in Arkansas and around the world. As technology advances, companies, governments, researchers and nonprofits are gathering more data than ever before. The question now has become how to best use that data to make smarter decisions. With a B.S. in Data Science, students will participate in a rigorous, innovative, multi-disciplinary learning experience and will graduate equipped to face some of the world’s biggest challenges.

On Tuesday, the U of A and Southern Arkansas University Tech signed a memorandum of agreement to align the schools' data science curriculum and allow SAUT graduates who earn an associate degree in data science to seamlessly transfer to the U of A to complete their bachelor's degree in data science. Great afternoon today with some of our future leaders. Today, I had the opportunity to speak, share and offer career coaching with students from the University of Arkansas’ Innovation and PATH students. Alongside Mr. Austin Willis, Mr. Jack Kincannon, Ms. Supriya Thorbole, and Dr. Karl Schubert, we had a great conversation with some incredible young men and women about their futures, and I can certainly verify- they have a lot to offer!
