The Blazer App Accelerator, funded and administered by the Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HIIE), provides an exciting opportunity for students to refine their projects and prepare for further funding through the Blazer Bridge Fund or to launch as potential startups. In partnership with Birmingham-based Harmony Venture Labs, HIIE will offer the AppThink program, a proven entrepreneurship curriculum that focuses on real-world applications. Exciting news in global medical collaboration! The UAB Heersink School of Medicine and the University of the West Indies-Mona (UWI Mona), Jamaica, Faculty of Medical Sciences have entered a program agreement to collaborate in key areas of medical education, research and clinical practice. ???? This strategic alliance will focus on the following initiatives: ? Collaborative Research and Grants ? Clinical Quality Improvement ? Trainee Development and Continuing Medical Education ? Exchange Programs Graduate School Dean, Vice Provost for International Education and Chief International Officer, Dr. Shadi Martin met with leaders from UWI-Mona and HSOM over the course of two days to discuss curriculum mapping and residency advising. Earlier this year, UAB and UWI-Mona renewed their partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding that was followed by an agreement that linked the respective Schools of Nursing.
