Katia Khoury, M.D., assistant professor in the UAB Division of Hematology and Oncology, and colleagues were published in Nature Medicine for their Phase 2 I-SPY 2.2 trial investigating the effects of datopotamab deruxtecan in early-stage breast cancer. The study showed promising results, suggesting potential for combination therapies. ?? Dana Rizk, M.D., a professor in the Division of Nephrology, reported in the New England Journal of Medicine that using iptacopan to treat patients with IgA nephropathy—a frequent cause of kidney failure — led to a significant reduction in proteinuria compared to the placebo group. ??
