Fostering the co-creation of better social worlds through positive communication

关于我们

In the Department of Applied Communication at UALR, our mission is to foster the co-creation of better social worlds through positive communication. Our on-campus, hybrid and online courses not only provide you with the flexibility to pursue a variety of exciting and meaningful careers, they will set you apart in a highly competitive, global market. Our department believes expanding access to higher education can transform lives. For that reason, we are proud to offer students the option of completing their Bachelor’s degree in a fully online format through the UALR Online program, and/or through face-to-face and hybrid classes. In addition, our department is also home to the MA in Applied Communication and the Conflict Management Graduate Certificate program. From corporate leadership and fundraising to communications director, public information officer, or researcher, our fully online Master of Arts in Applied Communication will strengthen your skills and open doors to new opportunities. Our two-year program is meant to serve both working adults/professionals & the traditional student, as we invite students to participate in our mission to foster the co-creation of better social worlds through positive communication. Learn more and apply to our MA program here - ualr.edu/appliedcomm/ma/admissions/ The Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management (CMGT) program is interdisciplinary with courses across applied communication, business, public administration, education, and psychology. Courses are taught by UA Little Rock faculty and by national experts in the field. Courses within this program are offered in a variety of formats, including fully online and in person, allowing both fully online or main campus students to complete the certificate. The UA Little Rock Department of Applied Communication Senior Capstone Project class is recruiting participants over the age of 18 who successfully overcame at least one or more personally challenging situations over the past year. Participation in the project will take place between March 1 - 31, 2025. To participate, participants can choose to be interviewed or complete an open-ended question survey about their experiences. Participation should take no longer than 30-60 minutes, depending on how much you want to share. Interviews will be recorded in Zoom to help with transcription if participants choose that option. Be sure to check your email regularly for an interview invite, if you select that option! Feel free to pass this recruitment message on to others who might be a good fit for this project. This study has been reviewed and approved by UA Little Rock's Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB has determined that the studies meet the ethical obligations required by federal law and University policies.
