VET RISES OUT OF THE ASHES One year after devastating wildfires wiped out Lahaina, Army veteran Eric Ryan reflects on what he has gained and not what was lost. The increasing cost of living and inability to find affordable housing had left Ryan homeless and living out of his car when the wildfires engulfed nearly everything in their path. But Ryan rose out of the ashes, thanks to U.S.VETS whose help led to a new apartment in Kihei and a new start.
