  • Last week, our office was delighted to host a reentry simulation for our staff, adjacent federal probation districts, and community stakeholders. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania's Reentry and Prevention Program conducted the training. It offered participants an authentic view of the challenges and setbacks that our clients often encounter while reentering society post-incarceration. The event concluded with insights from a former federal client who has since become a successful local entrepreneur and crime prevention advocate. Big thanks to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and our trainers for a GREAT training experience.

  • Last week, our office was delighted to host trainers from the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office in the Central District of California to enhance our staff's testimony skills. We extend our special thanks to our trainers for dedicating time from their hectic schedules to deliver this outstanding training that was well-received from all experience levels! We would also like to thank our U.S. Magistrate Judge for presiding over the scenario portion of the training.

  • As we conclude Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week, our management team would like to take another opportunity to reinforce the honor we have to work with our talented staff. We, as a system, deal with a group of people that the world is quick to discard or ignore because of mistakes they have made in the world in which they have had to live. What makes our staff so great is that every person that comes through our doors whether as a person just indicted, a defendant awaiting sentencing, or someone just released from prison is treated individually. These amazing men and women focus less on what bring people to our doors and more on their future and what they are capable of achieving in putting behind that life and decisions that led them down this road. This is all done without any compromise to the safety of our own communities. So as this week of celebration comes to an end, our team, again, thanks our staff for their tireless efforts, selflessness, and incredible dedication to this profession and the lives impacted as a result. Happy Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week!

  • The Middle District of Louisiana hosted students from Episcopal High School learning about the American criminal justice system. Students attended a panel discussion centering on the inner workings of a criminal case in federal court: from investigation, indictment, prosecution, defense, trial, and sentencing. Participating in the panel discussion was the Middle District’s United States Attorney, Ronald C. Gathe, Jr.; United States Marshal, William T. “Bill” Brown; Assistant Federal Public Defender, Marci Blaize, and Chief of Probation and Pretrial Services, Clarence Rambo, III.
