Demand for jet fuel on the West Coast was higher for the first half of 2024 than for the last four years. Still, jet fuel?product supplied—our proxy for consumption—remains less than it was in 2019.

We've implemented a new model for forecasting crude oil and natural gas production from the U.S. Federal Offshore Gulf of Mexico. Our new approach combines analysis of well-level historical production data with upcoming field developments to provide a more detailed outlook for the region. #oil #oilproduction #naturalgas

Natural gas accounted for 43% of U.S. electricity generation in 2023. Several U.S. natural gas power plant operators have taken or announced plans to take one of three steps: ?? Test cofiring hydrogen at existing facilities ?? Upgrade existing turbines to use a blend of natural gas and hydrogen ?? Include the capability to use a blend of natural gas and hydrogen when building new natural gas power plants #electricity #naturalgas #hydrogen

We expect that Brent crude oil prices will return to above $80 per barrel this month and will average?$82 per barrel?in the fourth quarter of the year. Market concerns over economic growth and oil demand have increased, but our expectation is that global oil reserves will begin to decline as OPEC+ production cuts result in?global oil consumption exceeding global oil production. OPEC+ member countries announced last week that they will be delaying production increases until December. Those increases were initially set to begin next month. Other highlights from our most recent forecasts: ? We expect Henry Hub natural gas prices?to remain relatively flat through the rest of 2024 before rising in 2025. We see prices increasing as?U.S. liquefied natural gas exports?rise by more than 2 billion cubic feet per day in 2025, putting stress on U.S. natural gas storage levels. ? We added a new set of forecasts on monthly retail propane price forecasts by U.S. region. We expect the U.S. average retail propane price for the upcoming heating season to average $2.50 per gallon, the same average price as last winter. ? We also added several new series of forecasts that better capture how biofuels are being consumed within overall U.S. demand for distillate fuels. We expect that biofuels will account for 9% of total distillate fuel oil consumption this year, up from 8% last year and 5% in 2022. https://lnkd.in/gYnMqJkN
