On Thursday, Pueblo Chemical Depot cased its colors marking the final chapter in its storied, 82-year-old presence in Pueblo, Colorado. “We don’t see this as a somber event, rather a milestone achievement,” said Col. Rodney McCutcheon, the depot’s 40th and final commander. McCutcheon emphasized the depot’s successful completion of its mission to safely secure, store, and protect the 2,613 tons of mustard agent once housed at the depot. For more than three decades, #TeamPCD has strived to make good on the noble cause of ridding the U.S. of chemical weapons. Pine Bluff Arsenal’s Army Substance Abuse Program/Employee Assistance Program Office is hosting a Suicide Awareness Walk Saturday, Sept. 14 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center’s Wellness Center, located at 1301 W. 40th Avenue in Pine Bluff. This is a community-building campaign by PBA’s ASAP/EAP office to promote suicide awareness and to provide a supportive space for our community to come together and share our commitment to mental health. During the event, there were will informational resources and available support services, empowering individuals to seek help. For information, call 870-540-3094.

23 years later, we have not forgotten. On Sept. 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 lives were lost during terrorist attacks that forever changed our nation. As we honor their memories today, we’re also reminded to thank and honor the thousands of men and women who fought, served and died in Afghanistan and Iraq in the aftermath of that fateful day. #NeverForget #AmericasArsenal #PatriotDay
