Last week, Maj Gen. Scott Sherman, #ARNORTH Deputy Commanding General - Support, gave keynote remarks at the Daughters of the Republic of Texas' annual Memorial Service for the Heroes of the Alamo, which honors those who died in the 1836 Battle of the #Alamo. The assault, which lasted only 90 minutes, took the lives of the roughly 200 Texan defenders. Today, we honor their selfless sacrifice as a keystone in United States' military history, fittingly in #MilitaryCityUSA. #StrengthoftheNation #RemembertheAlamo

U.S. Army North welcomed a delegation from the Brazilian Army last week to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Operation Encore, a pivotal World War II campaign that cemented the enduring partnership between the United States and Brazil. Operation Encore was a crucial joint military effort in early 1945, where U.S. and Exército Brasileiro fought side by side to break German defensive positions and capture Monte Castello in Italy. This hard-fought victory marked a significant chapter in Allied operations, showcasing the strength of multinational cooperation and the combat effectiveness of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force and 10th Mountain Division, United States Army, both of which played decisive roles in the Italian Campaign. "This event underscores the sacrifices and contributions of both U.S. and Brazilian forces during World War II," said Lt. Gen. Allan M. Pepin, U.S. Army North commander. "It highlights the deep bond forged in battle—one that has endured for 80 years and continues to strengthen our partnership today." #StrongerTogether #OperationEncore80 #StrengthoftheNation #ClimbtoGlory #montecastello80anos #FEB80anos #heroissemprelembrados
