During a recent routine mission update, Army Sustainment Command’s BG Hinson briefed LTG Mohan on current efforts to support divestiture initiatives, which are currently a major AMC priority! Pictured is one of those initiatives – the Rapid Removal of Excess Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment, or R2O – which aims to have Soldiers turn in their old gear, and help the Army consolidate and manage inventory more efficiently. Army leaders just broke ground on a new 6.8 mm ammunition production facility at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant! Spanning 450,000 square feet, the facility will feature modern manufacturing systems capable of producing all components of 6.8 mm ammunition. Fort Carson units continue to streamline operations as part of the Army's Rapid Removal of Excess initiative, or R2E ???? Army units can now return gear just as it is—no lengthy repairs needed! This means that units can easily return broken or outdated equipment like box fans, computer monitors and tactical vehicles to their Modernization Displacement and Repair Site without the trouble of maintenance.
