    Chief Executive Officer @ Guild

    Since stepping into the role of CEO at Guild, I've been focused on enhancing our customer and user-centricity as an organization. To gain deeper insights, I've been engaging in a listening tour with our customers and users to understand their needs, motivations, and how we can better partner for meaningful outcomes. Last Thursday, we kicked off a rotating series at our monthly Guild gatherings, inviting employer partners, learners, and learning partners to share their experiences and offer feedback to our entire employee base on how we can better serve our stakeholders. Below is what I learned from our conversation with Gregory Humpf, one of our learners from Tyson Foods. ? Motivation:? "The biggest drive for me to do anything is my family. I wanted to get a degree and show my son and daughter that even at 35, you can figure out what you want to do, and you can go for it." ? Drive:? "I was working 13-hour days on the night shift. There was minimal time for anything—but somehow, it all came together." ? Skills Attainment: "Learning what I learned through organizational leadership allows me to use this every day. The one thing I took away and use constantly is business communication. I'm able to communicate with folks way above me—and it's great to have those new skills behind me." ? Coaching: “Have them [learners] know that there is going to be somebody by their side their entire journey. Because I can tell you for me, it was amazing to have Jessica to talk to every few weeks and just?go over whatever I needed.” I admire Greg for living his values, his persistence, and his growth mindset.? Thanks for coming to speak with our team and providing us with insights. A special shoutout to his Guild coach, Jessica George PCC, for all the support she's provided along the way! Everybody needs a champion.?

    Orange is the color of hunger awareness, and spotlighting Hunger Action Day is just one small example of how we’re working to help alleviate food insecurity.? ? We’re further supporting Hunger Action Month? throughout September by: ???Continuing our partnership with?Feeding America, the largest charity for national hunger relief, in addition to our contributions of nearly 24 million pounds of protein to the network over the past year. ???Matching team member donations to nonprofit food banks and making extra monetary contributions for every hour volunteered at a local pantry.? ???Turning our social posts orange, because no matter the topic, feeding the hungry should always be top of mind. ?
