关于我们
Since its inception in 1989, the TEDC has consistently and aggressively promoted business growth through a highly effective, four-point strategy: Retention and Expansion of Existing Businesses New and Small Business Development Targeted Marketing and Attraction of New Business Incentives and Infrastructure The TEDC's focus is on primary employers; that is, companies that sell a majority of their products and services to markets outside our regional economy, thereby funneling those new dollars into our local economy. A two to three times economic growth factor is realized by Smith County retail and service sectors as a result of primary business expansion and the inbound revenue it generates.

U-Haul Ranks Tyler in Top 25 Growth Metros TYLER, Texas – Tyler has earned a prominent place in the latest U-Haul ranking of the Top 25 Metro Areas for growth and relocation, cementing its status as one of the most desirable destinations in the U.S. for movers and newcomers. The annual list, which highlights cities experiencing substantial movement from one-way U-Haul transactions, places Tyler among the nation's most thriving cities. The ranking is a direct reflection of the Tyler area’s growing appeal, offering an affordable cost of living, abundant job opportunities and vibrant lifestyle. U-Haul, a national leader in do-it-yourself moving, bases its rankings on data from millions of one-way truck rentals, analyzing the migration patterns of customers moving in and out of the city. 2024 is the first year that metros have been included in the company’s annual growth report and rankings. In recent years, Tyler has seen an influx of residents and new businesses attracted to the area's thriving economy, excellent schools, and high quality of life. "This ranking solidifies Tyler’s strong economic growth," said TEDC President, Scott Martinez. "Living and working here means enjoying a low cost of living, a welcoming environment, and a city where its leaders are committed to growth and innovation. We are thrilled to see Tyler's rising status reflected in this national ranking." “I think people are moving to the Tyler metro area to leave the hustle and bustle of the Dallas-Fort Worth area behind,” said Warren Iles, U-Haul Company of Northern Louisiana president, whose territory includes northeast Texas. “Tyler has a great school system. A lot of the schools around the city are growing like crazy because of the amount of people and kids that are moving into the area. Job opportunities seem to be increasing. Brookshire Grocery is headquartered in Tyler and has a massive operation there, which employs a lot of people in the area.” With 25 metro areas on the list, Dallas was ranked as No. 1, with Austin, Houston and Tyler, following. No other Texas cities were included. This ranking reinforces Tyler's growing reputation as a hub for relocation and growth. 2024 U-Haul Growth Metros 1. Dallas, TX 2. Charlotte, NC 3. Phoenix, AZ 4.
