关于我们
The Texas Taxpayers and Research Association (TTARA) is the state’s pre-eminent association focusing on responsible state and local fiscal policy and how those policies impact the Texas economy. TTARA is a non-profit, membership-supported organization of both businesses and individuals. Our membership includes several hundred of the state’s largest employers and taxpayers, as well as leading tax professionals and trade associations that represent businesses and professions. They include the entire range of economic sectors and activities in Texas and share a common belief that all participants in our state's economic life have a stake in determining its future. TTARA members operate in every part of Texas; they employ and provide incomes to thousands of Texans; they produce or provide every type of good or service Texans consume; and, they provide a huge portion of the revenue that supports public services at every level of government. We provide our members with current information and high quality analysis of developing tax and spending issues. We provide educational services to our members and opportunities for them to network and meet with public policy makers. And we advocate changes in public policies where they are necessary to improve the state's fiscal practices and business climate.

It's another busy week at the Texas Capitol! Today, TTARA's senior property tax analyst Carl Walker will address the Senate Local Government Committee on a series of bills by Sen. Paul Bettencourt that?would increase transparency in the calculation of — and notification about — property tax rate increases. We're also working hard to support policies and initiatives creating a system of lower, fairer taxes that spreads the burden more equally and uniformly among a broad base of taxpayers. TTARA President Jennifer Rabb was quoted in this excellent story in The Dallas Morning News on efforts this year to reduce property taxes. https://lnkd.in/gDuqZWJs #TxLege #TxBudget #PropertyTaxes #TruthInTaxation

Carl Walker, our Senior Property Tax Analyst at Texas Taxpayers and Research Association (TTARA), provided invited testimony before the Texas House Subcommittee on Property Tax Appraisals at their organizational hearing. A big thank you to Committee Chair Chris Turner and all committee members for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to this important discussion on property tax appraisals. Your dedication to improving our tax system is truly commendable. #TTARA #PropertyTax #TexasLegislature #PublicPolicy #TaxReform

TTARA President Jennifer Rabb testified this week at the Texas Capitol in support of House Bills 8 and 9, which would deliver real property tax relief to Texans and Texas employers. She also was quoted in The Texas Tribune on major property tax cut bills under consideration at the Capitol: "Property tax reduction, in the long run, we believe should focus on controlling tax rates," she said. "That is the most effective way to control property taxes.” https://lnkd.in/gevGiXvg #TxLege #Taxes #PropertyTaxes #TaxRates #Appraisals
