Congratulations to Dr. Victoria Swenson, PhD, RPA for being awarded the Service-Learning Mini-Grant.?? Last week, Dr. Swenson and her students were in Eagle Pass, collecting vital forensic evidence to help identify individuals who tragically lost their lives crossing the border. This fall, Dr. Swenson will be leading OpID's (Operation Identification) efforts in locating and exhuming unidentified remains. Through her work, Dr. Swenson provides students with hands-on experience while addressing a critical humanitarian crisis. ??Congratulations to our director Dr. Steven Rayburn! ?? We feel honored to have you as the head of Service-Learning, and we are very excited about your growth at Texas State!??

Dr. Steven Rayburn?has been appointed as interim chair of the Department of Management, effective August 1, 2024. Dr. Rayburn, associate professor in the Department of Marketing, earned a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University and joined Texas State in 2013. He previously enjoyed a successful career managing front-line employees in service, retail, and sales organizations. Dr. Rayburn has made significant contributions to the academic community, including in his current administrative position as director of the Service-Learning Excellence program at Texas State. ?
