I am overwhelmed by the incredible love and support from the Cardano community. Thanks and exclusively to the unwavering Cardano community belief in us, we were able to get funds for five proposals on Project Catalyst — all focused on open-source projects designed to improve the developer experience on #Cardano. With these recent results, the total number of TxPipe proposals funded by the Cardano community has reached an extraordinary milestone: 24 proposals! This achievement reflects the collective effort to push the boundaries of what’s possible in blockchain development. At TxPipe, we remain deeply committed to delivering top-tier open-source tools for driving Cardano adoption. We’ve never been more convinced of Cardano’s immense potential, and we’ll continue to work tirelessly to make the developer experience on Cardano the best across all blockchains. Help us congratulate the winners of the #MidnightNetwork track at the Cardano Hackathon: ?? Fran and The Redeemers from TxPipe – Built a DAO-focused voting system. ?? Erick Romero from Edda Labs – Created a voting feature for integration with the Mesh Multi-sig platform. ?? 3rd and 4th Root Solutions from Protofire – Developed an identity voting DApp leveraging Midnight’s ZK-powered data protection. Here's a quick summary of the new features ???? 1. Use as Provider for Blaze, Lucid-Evolution & Mesh??? Dolos is now the first stand-alone component that you can use as provider for your favorite tx-builder. No need for any external services, just point your javascript code to your Dolos gRPC port. 2. New tip-only mode ?? If you don't care about the history of the chain, you can use tip-only mode to drastically reduce the amount of disk required. You can still query the latest ledger state and submit transactions but only occupying a few Gb of disk (eg: mainnet takes only ~10Gb) 3. S3 Snapshot Bootstrap ?? You can now bootstrap Dolos from our S3 snapshots. You can get a Dolos node up and running in just the few mins that it takes to download the file. These snapshots use Dolos DB format, so they are ready to be use directly after download. ?? DISCLAIMER: Dolos is NOT a full-node! Dolos is designed as an efficient backend for dApps, beware of its limitations: - no consensus logic, it trusts the upstream peer - it's not capable of producing new blocks - it performs only minimal tx validation - we rely a lot on disk IO to keep mem low

?? How can project-building on Cardano be improved through open-source tooling and dApp-friendly infrastructure solutions? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? At the moment, the number of developers working on Cardano is limited, which in turn leads to fewer projects being developed. This limits the creation of innovative solutions and products for users and companies, ultimately hindering broader adoption of the blockchain. Cardano's security and reliability are rooted in its use of Haskell, the functional programming language that forms the foundation for Plutus. Because Haskell offers such a high degree of certainty, its rigorous approach ensures that the code is secure and accurate. However, the number of developers who are skilled in Haskell is limited. Similarly, the Haskell node is primarily designed for stake pool operation, making the interface less dApp developer friendly. Recently, Cardano has been seeing a small but steady inflow of new initiatives from developers who have incorporated easier and more accessible programming languages, as well as new tools and solutions that facilitate dApp development. Using Rust as a base programming language has been among the new initiatives used on Cardano to attract new developers to the blockchain. TxPipe was one of the first companies to take advantage of this opportunity in developing Pallas. Contrary to Haskell, Rust is a less-used programming language on Cardano that has, in certain aspects, proved to be more user-friendly for new developers. Considering this, developers at TxPipe created Pallas, a growing library of modules that reimplements usual Ouroboros/Cardano logic in native Rust, serving as a software development kit (SDK) of platform-specific building tools for developers that use Rust on Cardano. Alongside Pallas, TxPipe also developed Dolos, a project funded in Project Catalyst’s Fund 11 to create a Rust data node; a very limited and focused version of the Cardano node that can be used as a cost-effective, performant option to deploy data nodes. Learning from the experiences of developers from other blockchains, TxPipe pinpointed a common issue on Cardano: due to a set of design choices, the existing Cardano node became complicated to connect, making development & dApp interaction w/ the blockchain difficult. Pallas & Dolos are a step toward a full node using Rust, meaning that the node maintains a complete copy of the blockchain & validates transactions independently. The efficiency of Rust-based full nodes contribute significantly to a blockchain network’s overall performance.
