  • This week, TIADA had the privilege of representing the interests of Texas independent automobile #dealers at the 2024 NIADA Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. Joined by Greg Zak of DIxon Motors and Selcuk Kaya of Kayalar Motors, we engaged in important discussions with lawmakers and industry leaders. Together, we ensured that the concerns of Texas dealers were heard on the national stage. In meetings with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, U.S. Representative Jodey Arrington, and U.S. Representative Wesley Hunt, we advocated for policies that protect and promote the independent automobile industry. A key issue discussed was the FTC’s Motor Vehicle Dealers Trade Regulation Rule and the challenges it may pose to small dealerships. We also addressed broader economic challenges, including rising interest rates and maintaining access to credit for buyers with non-traditional credit histories. Our discussions were productive, and we appreciate the commitment of these lawmakers to support small #businesses and the independent dealer community. TIADA will continue to #advocate for our members at both the state and national levels, ensuring that the voices of independent dealers in Texas are heard.

  • TIADA attended the El Paso Independent Automobile Dealers Association Golf (EPIADA) Tournament for Charity last week, where industry leaders and members came together for a day of fun and philanthropy. With over 120 participants, the tournament was a resounding success, fostering connections and giving back to the community. From EPIADA President Cesar Stark (S&S Motors): "We recently celebrated our 4th EPIADA Golf Tournament for #Charity with the participation of over 120 players. It was great to see a bunch of #dealers come together and enjoy a great time for a great cause. I am very thankful to have had the support of some of our industry’s top partners. Some people taking the time to make the trip just to be a part of this great event, including our TIADA President Eddie Hale, our Executive Director John Frullo, and our Past President Mark Jones. This is our biggest turnout yet. The event allows us to solidify the relationships between our dealer members, sponsors, and friends and, most importantly, raise money to give back to our amazing #community."
