Texas #dealers, take note: the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) has set a crucial deadline for webDEALER training that could directly impact your ability to receive metal plates on time. If you do not complete your required training by this deadline, you may not receive your metal plates in time for the July 1 transition. Later this year, all dealers must be enrolled in webDEALER to receive and process metal license plates. Dealers who complete training by the deadline will be prioritized for plate distribution, ensuring a smooth transition. On February 11, over 60 independent automobile #dealers and associate #members from across Texas gathered at the 2025 TIADA Day at the Capitol to #advocate for policies that benefit the industry. Despite the rain, dealers were determined to meet with 40+ state legislators and staff, ensuring lawmakers heard firsthand how proposed regulations impact their businesses. For many, this event wasn’t just about policy—it was about acting in service for fellow dealers. Lowell Rogers of 11th Street Motors shared, "The most exciting part for me is representing Texas dealers and giving back to the industry." From advocating for more Texas Department of Motor Vehicles staff to addressing local lienholder issues and preparing for the transition to metal temporary tags, TIADA members made sure their voices were heard. Christina Sabillon of Mi Tierra Auto Sales emphasized, "Visiting the Capitol on Lobby Day is crucial for auto dealers because it provides a unique opportunity to directly engage with lawmakers." ?? Breaking News: 5th Circuit Overturns the FTC CARS Rule ?? The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has struck down the Federal Trade Commission CARS Rule. The court ruled that the FTC failed to follow proper procedures when finalizing the regulation, which sought to impose new restrictions on auto #dealers. TIADA and NIADA proudly stood with dealers, filing an amicus brief opposing this rule. We remain committed to protecting independent dealers from overreaching #regulations that would have added unnecessary complexity, cost, and time to the car-buying process.
