AgriLife Extension Disaster and Assessment Recovery agents received certification as part of the MyPI youth emergency preparedness initative program. DAR agents are now ready to go back to Texas communities to recruit and train teenagers on disaster preparedness, life saving skills such as CPR, injury treatment, weather awareness and other emergency needs.

The 2024 Walk Across Texas program showed impressive results! Participants increased their moderate or vigorous physical activity by an average of 17.3 minutes per session, and the percentage of people meeting physical activity recommendations grew by 17%! Additionally, the percentage of participants reporting no physical activity in the previous month dropped from 34% to zero!
