关于我们
Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA) is one of 58 federally-regulated organ procurement organizations in the United States. Established in 1975 as South Texas Organ Bank, TOSA serves Central and South Texas offering organ recovery and donation services for individuals and families who wish to offer others a second chance at life via organ donation. On this #WorldKidneyDay, we share the story of one of our own. Monica Robles, Hospital & Donor Services Coordinator, has a strong connection to organ donation. Monica is a living donor. In 2011, her kidney donation facilitated a transplant that ultimately helped her husband and receive a kidney from another donor through paired donation. Through the gift of donation, Albert was given five more wonderful years before his passing in May 2015. Though Albert is no longer with them, his legacy lives on through his family and his two sons.

Exciting news! Hospitals and health systems will begin updating to the new MyChart version in Spring 2025. By the end of 2025, the majority of hospitals and health systems using MyChart will be running the new update with the donor registration opportunity included. "Donate Life America is excited to work with Epic to make donor registration more accessible than ever. By integrating this opportunity into MyChart, we are reaching people where they already manage their health—creating a seamless, trusted pathway for lifesaving generosity. Together, we are empowering millions to make a difference and help save and heal lives." – David Fleming, President & CEO, Donate Life America ???? Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gtJJg98F

In honor of Black History Month, we reflect on the 42,962 Black donors who have generously given the gift of life, accounting for approximately 15% of all deceased donors in the U.S. Their selfless acts are a testament to the power of community and the profound impact of giving. Currently, there are 28,527 Black patients waiting–representing just over 27% of all individuals on the national transplant waiting list–highlighting the critical need for organ donation within Black communities. Together, we can work to address health disparities, increase donor registrations, and support those in need of lifesaving transplants. Let’s celebrate these lifesaving heroes and continue raising awareness about the importance of donation in our communities. #DonateLife #BlackHistoryMonth
