Tacos = Trust...it's just basic science. #tacotuesday #science #trust #relationships #team
Okay, hear me out. The secret sauce to building trust as a team… Tacos. ?????? Every Two Wolf Foundation Warrior Stewardship Team conducts an exercise in teamwork, communication, and trust during their time together. The name of that exercise…Taco Tuesday. My belief: Tacos make the world a better place. My advice: Make more tacos with the people you care about. (If you can do it outside, even better) Happy #tacotuesday ??: Warrior Stewardship Team 002 - Taco Tuesday - Kootenai National Forest, Montana ?? Credit: Cameron Cushman

Because of important funding programs like the onXmaps, Inc. Adventure Forever grant program, small organizations like Two Wolf Foundation are able to see the mission materialize into reality. Funding has been the single largest source of frustration and stress during my time leading TWF…but getting to know and develop strong relationships with incredible people in the pursuit of that funding has been amazing. The onX team has been a true delight to work with and I’m happy to celebrate their hard work and achievements with you all. In 2023 and 2024, funding provided by the onX Maps Accces & Stewardship program enabled Two Wolf Foundation to fly military veterans from all across the country out to Montana to embark on the next great adventure in their healing and growth through team-based public land stewardship work and overland travel, ie. one epic road trip together. Check out the 2024 Access + Stewardship impact report that was released yesterday. Incredible work! ??
We’re proud to release our first-ever onX Access and Stewardship Impact Report. We can’t imagine a world without hunting, skiing, dirt biking, climbing, overlanding, or sharing stories around a campfire. So, we’ll keep standing up for the health of our ecosystems and access to the places we cherish. And we'll continue to inspire an ethos of stewardship in the communities around us. This work is never done. It’s rarely easy, it’s not a competition, and sometimes it’s Type 2 fun. But today, we celebrate with a huge thank you to our partners and customers for making this possible alongside us. For our 2024 impact metrics and a few of our favorite stories, read the report. Together, let's protect adventure, forever. https://lnkd.in/gY3XQ83M?

Warrior Stewardship Team 005 concluded their trip on 02 June 2024. Unbeknownst to us here at TWF, the team gathered together on their final night to film a group testimonial. They enlisted the help of a small media company, Ten Four Visuals, to put this together and we are excited to share with you the experiences and impact our Warrior Stewardship initiative had on this wonderful group of women. Each team’s experience is always a little different. Different time of year, different locations, different project work. But we believe the testimony of Team 005 absolutely nails the commonality of each team we have fielded these last two years. The connection to each other through these “missions” is impacting. The opportunity to serve together again as a team creates value for both the individuals involved and the public lands being cared for. We hope you will take a few minutes to watch the video and listen to Team 005 share their experiences and their belief in what we are doing here at Two Wolf Foundation. Thank you Team 005. ?? Thank you Idaho Trails Association for partnering with us on this effort. Thank you Ten Four Visuals. ?????? Thank you Fox Factory Trail Trust for assisting with grant funding in support of Warrior Stewardship Team 005. ?? Thank you to each partner and supporter that has helped us make the Warrior Stewardship program a reality. onXmaps, Inc. Overland Expo Foundation GRAYL iKamper USA, Inc.

Woah, it’s been a minute! It’s been a whirlwind of a summer that kicked off with the first Two Wolf Foundation all-women’s team completing amazing work in the Boise National Forest and Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in Idaho. In the last month, I’ve logged countless miles in pursuit of growing support for TWF including a wonderful few days at Overland Expo PNW in Oregon. In 9 days, I am leading our second team of the year, Team 006, on a 3,000 mile - 14 day trip to support public land stewardship objectives in the Inyo National Forest and eastern Sierra of California. We’ve secured support and funding from some awesome people and organizations to make this happen. In the last few days, I’ve encountered a slew of issues attempting to derail this incredible trip. Wildfires are burning across the west that have prompted closures, including access trails to the project site, we have had team members have to withdraw from participating for personal and professional reasons, and the trucks have presented challenges that require time, money, and effort to make sure we are ready to hit the road on July 31st. After spending a few recent days at the XOVERLAND Ranch grand opening, soaking up every piece of wisdom from the Expedition Overland team I could…I found this quote last night from Teddy Roosevelt and it hits the truest tone of Team 006’s mission that lies ahead. We will do what we can, with what we have, allowing ourselves to be grateful about wherever the adventure leads us. ??: taken by me last night of a smoky Montana summer sunset.

Warrior Stewardship Team 006 begins their 3,000 mile trip in just 9 days. ???? We’re incredibly thankful for the support of the Overland Expo Foundation and the many amazing people that help us accomplish our mission!
The Overland Expo Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of a $5,000 grant to Two Wolf Foundation for their Warrior Stewardship Team 006 project. Warrior Stewardship projects, allows participants to regain a sense of service, purpose, and belonging in the aftermath of trauma and substance abuse through our team-based land stewardship activities. An incredible bond is formed between team members during the conduct of overland travel and exploration of US public lands, strengthening peer-to-peer support that continues well beyond the timeframe of our programs. WST.006 will undertake a 3,000 mile roundtrip journey from the start point in the Bitterroot Valley of western Montana to California’s incredible Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range, an overlander’s paradise and home to popular overland destinations such as the Alabama Hills. WST.006 will be working with the Inyo National Forest OHV Program, to conduct four days of partnered stewardship work in the vicinity of Monache Meadows. In support of the Inyo National Forest Heritage Program, the team will be assisting in the construction of a new roof on the Monache Ranger Cabin. The cabin, located in an extremely remote section of the national forest (only accessible by high-clearance 4-wheel drive vehicles), was originally built in the 1930s and is in need of significant repair. Two Wolf Foundation is honored to contribute to this effort. ?????? ?????????? ???? ?????????????????? ?????????? Every adventure has to start somewhere. For the members of Warrior Stewardship Team 005, it all started at an Airbnb in Hamilton, MT. Two Wolf Foundation relies on these short term rentals to lodge teams on the first and last day of their expedition. The Grand View Guesthouse was the perfect spot to rally the team and gear as they prepared for the journey ahead. Located in the foothills of the Sapphire Mountains, it welcomed the team to western Montana with breathtaking views of the Bitterroot Valley. Without our own home base from which to welcome and launch teams on their trips, we're thankful for rentals like these that help get our programs started off right. Latest check-in from the team this morning (Day 4) - they had a great day working with the Idaho Trails Association conducting stewardship work on the border of the Boise National Forest and the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. The team will face cooler temperatures today as a cold front rolled in overnight. Temp in camp this morning was a brisk 26°. They will complete their second day of stewardship work today and enjoy a dinner in camp prepared by friends of the ITA. ?? ?? BACON & EGGS ?? . We’re not sure if there is any better way to start the day than good old bacon and eggs. . Last fall, Team 004 #nailedit with classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on perfectly toasted English muffins at a dispersed camp site in the Uinta National Forest, Utah while supporting a USDA Forest Service project with our friends Tread Lightly! . We can’t wait to see what Team 005 cooks up during their trip to the Boise National Forest in Idaho in less than two weeks! . Warrior Stewardship Team 005 will be conducting linkup with the Idaho Trails Association for a multi-day public land stewardship project in the #frankchurchwilderness during their weeklong overland adventure. ?? .
