  • Last year at D4PG, we had the privilege of hosting Sophie Wang’s transformative workshop on Exposing Algorithmic Ecologies: Abolitionist Tools for Community Resistance. Sophie guided us through the complexities of algorithms and their hidden ideologies, helping us understand how they shape power structures and impact marginalized communities. Through the case study of PredPol, Sophie introduced us to an abolitionist framework for analyzing algorithms and the ways in which communities are fighting back. At this year's D4PG expect diving into pressing issues and becoming equiped with the knowledge and tools needed to drive change. Join us as we continue to challenge and disrupt harmful technological systems. twolineSTUDIO #D4PG #TCIA #Datajustice #AIEthics #AI #communityresistance #techsystems

  • We are thrilled to have co-founder Aasim S. recently speak with Heather Hiscox during the latest #Possibilityproject episode, during which they discussed reimagination and collective action. View the full video below!

Author of No More Status Quo (available now!), Founder & CEO at Pause for Change, National Speaker & Host of the talk show, Possibility Project.org

I have so many favorite moments from the latest #possibilityproject episode with Aasim S., Steward of the Twin Cities Innovation Alliance. I took SEVEN pages of notes and each provocation Aasim offered is truly a meditation on #hope and #possibility. In these wicked, cruel, and uncertain times, trust me when I share that these 32 minutes clipped from the full 90 minute interactive workshop that he led, will shift your energy and thinking. Thank you Aasim for removing your mask and wearing your vibrant shirt, asking us to challenge narratives, consider what we consume, and realign us to the power of imagination for collective action! Watch the recording on YouTube (subscribe to get all videos as they drop) and the podcast recording will be out soon! https://lnkd.in/gMMAvFq9

Meet the Fellows! The No Data About Us Without Us Fellowship (NDAUWU) program builds the capacity of grassroots activists and organizers to challenge the rise of mass surveillance and algorithmic racism in the lives of vulnerable youth and their communities. The Fellowship brings together an intergenerational cohort of activists and community leaders to advance youth digital liberation and healing justice. NOTICE our website? Come check out what else we've been up to! https://lnkd.in/gM2t7TUN The Fellowship was developed to honor and cultivate the radical imagination of community leaders to re-envision the role of technology in society. Too often, Big Tech’s dystopian fantasies monopolize the public discourse. The Fellowship seeks to disrupt that by equipping community leaders with knowledge, skills, and critical inquiry to build transformative ideas that reclaim our futures. The Fellowship brings together eight visionary activists, cultural organizers, and community leaders from across three cities–Houston, Minneapolis, and Chicago—to develop their expertise in critical digital justice issues while designing projects that catalyze youth digital justice initiatives in their communities and across the nation. Each receives generous financial support throughout their tenure alongside extensive coaching and mentoring from a team of national digital justice experts. hashtag #DigitalJustice #data #datajustice #AI #YouthActivism hashtag #CommunityLeaders hashtag #YouthEmpowerment hashtag #DigitalLiberation hashtag #FellowshipProgram

  • Last year at D4PG, Dr. Tanya Clark, Dr. Walter Greason, Dr. Michael Dando, and Aasim S. led a powerful panel on Afrofuturism, Critical Design, Multimodal Literacies, and Civic Engagement. Together, they explored how Afrofuturism, as an emergent social and creative movement, is transforming our understanding of civilization through the lens of African diasporic history and arts. They delved into how critical design principles serve as tools for creating a sustainable world that undoes the harms of colonialism, imperialism, and enslavement. This panel inspired attendees to rethink how creative expression, design, and literacy can be combined to radically transform our engagement with civic life and democracy In 2025 expect the same amount of transformation and engagement, with panelists that are inspiring and knowledgeable. Come join us! Thank you Ngan Huynh, TwoLine Studios and Heather Willems for this amazing graphic! #D4PG #datajustice #data #AI #AIEthics #Tech #CivicEngagement #Afrofuturism #DesignThinking #SustainableFuture
