Twice Exceptional, abbreviated as “2e,” refers to those who are gifted intellectually and who have a learning difference. Twice Exceptional is now officially stocked in the Indiana University bookstore! This milestone is a tribute to an idea that was born in a coffee shop on this very campus. Over the past year, we've had the honor of partnering with Indiana University's Accessible Educational Services (AES), launching several releases and hosting a successful pop-up shop on campus. These initiatives have allowed us to give back to the IU community that has supported us every step of the way. This not only represents a milestone for Twice Exceptional, but for the vast community of those who think and learn differently. This is for the local kid who dreams of getting into college one day but fears their differences will hold them back, the high school junior on a college tour who hopes to find a place where they belong, the student who feels overwhelmed by the challenges of university life, and the alumnus with a young child struggling in school. Each of them, discovering our hoodie, is reminded that one’s potential is not defined by others' perceptions or limitations. Every stitch in our clothing is a symbol of resilience and empowerment. Our presence in the IU bookstore is a beacon for anyone who has ever felt different, misunderstood, or underestimated. It's a testament to the power of embracing one's unique qualities and turning them into strengths.
