As inbound lead in our Lebanon, Indiana warehouse, the little things make the difference to ensure delivery is seamless. James Xayasomloth, who has been with TVF since 2013, says the little things are also what makes his work life happy. “I've never gone to a place where they have treated me so well,” James says. “Working at places for multiple years, I never really got any birthday shout outs… little things like ‘hey, happy birthday,’ or ‘happy one-year, two-year, three-year anniversary.” Unlike other places he’s worked, TVF’s culture encourages those kinds of recognition. Since learning the ropes more than a decade ago, James has handled a multitude of duties throughout his time at TVF – responsibilities ranging from helper to assistant warehouse manager. Today, he does everything from scheduling containers to unloading shipments to handling discrepancies to lending a hand on the floor and beyond. James considers being an employee-owner as a “symbiotic relationship” between himself, his team, and the entire company. “It drives you to want to be better – not just for yourself. It’s like, if the company does well, you do well,” he says. The benefits include shares in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) that TVF employee-owners earn over time. “That's a huge motivation for me to not just stay, but to do to do well and to help the company do well.” TVF has five Core Values that serve as principles to work by, and James says he identifies most closely with Be Accountable. “I'm a very accountable person,” he says. “If I make a mistake, I'm the first to admit it. One thing I've learned in life is that I learned more from my mistakes than I do my successes.” Outside of the warehouse, James’ passions are numerous and include growing his impressive sports memorabilia collection, watching movies, following his hometown San Diego Padres baseball team, video games, board games like “Zombiecide,” bowling, playing a variety of sports, and spending time with family and friends. #TVFCommunity ??
