Regina Brady, currently the Director of Thames Valley Council for Community Action’s (TVCCA) WIC program, will assume the role of Director for TVCCA’s new Family Bridge universal home visiting program—the second in the state--to begin in select areas in January 2025 and serving post-partum women and their families. Ms. Brady, who has been with TVCCA since 2017, holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. With over 30 years of experience in family services, she has overseen WIC programs across three states and previously taught grades K-3. Her commitment to supporting families is a driving force behind her new role. "This position supports my passion for connecting families with the services they need,” Ms. Brady shared. “I love working with external partners to ensure that everyone is aware of available services. This is a critical time for mothers, babies, and the whole family.” In her new role, Ms. Brady will be responsible for program launch, staff management, and outreach, coordinating with local OB/GYN providers, health centers, health districts, military partners, tribal nations, and Backus Hospital. Initial service areas include Norwich, Griswold, Lisbon, Montville, Windham/Willimantic, Mohegan Tribal Nation, and Mashantucket Tribal Nation. “I love what I do, and I take my role as a public servant very seriously,” Ms. Brady emphasized. “With Family Bridge, it’s not just about offering a single service. Regina Brady, our long-time Director of WIC, has taken a position as Director of our new Family Bridge universal home visiting program for pregnant and postpartum women and their families. This opens up a great opportunity for a dynamic and detailed-oriented person who enjoys direct contact with families in our community. You’ll be responsible for the overall management of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) serving New London County, including staff supervision, reporting, acting as agency representative and liaison with state, local, and federal partners, preparing internal/external reports and budget documents, and ensuring that the operations of our site clinics are maximized to provide optimal services to the people we support. TVCCA bids a tearful farewell to Robin Pierce, The Alliance for Family Support’s Assistant Director, who’s been with the agency for 34 years. (In the large photo, that's Robin on the right.) TVCCA’s Family Bridge program, one of two pilot initiatives in the state, is seeking a Director to launch, promote, and oversee this exciting new program offering free services for families with new babies to ease their transition from hospital to home. The position is responsible for all areas of the program including planning & operations, team supervision, and community relations. The Program Director will work closely with other TVCCA departments as well as developing strong working relationships with community partners including the Office of Early Childhood and the United Way of Southeastern CT (UWSECT). Significant experience in early childhood and maternal services, knowledge of issues related to pre-natal and post-partum needs is essential, as well as knowledge of Family Connects International (FCI) standards. Salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $60,060. TVCCA offers a generous benefits package including a 403B retirement plan.
