CMS's Beneficiary Claims Data API (BCDA) FHIR endpoint is transforming access to Medicare claims data. With it, providers can access claims data in #FHIR format up to 8 weeks faster than the old CCLF flat file method. We've seen adoption of BCDA really accelerate in the last year among organizations we work with in the Tuva Health community. That's why I'm thrilled to announce that today we're releasing a connector for CMS BCDA, making it simple to go from CMS BCDA into the Tuva Data Model, so the data is ready for analytics inside your data warehouse. How much dollars is wasted reinventing the data analysis assets over and over again? I don't have an accurate estimate, but sometimes, I feel that most of the tech/data budget is related to rebuilding the same data analysis assets to some degree. Yes, I am a big advocate of opening up such resources to the public, and hence, I am also a big fan of Tuva Health. Today, I am excited to share that I loaded the Tuva assets, Tuva-formatted synthetic patient samples and various value sets, to the mimilabs data lakehouse. The mimilabs users can use the carefully curated publicly available datasets and the Tuva resources at the same time. I want to explore what's possible with publicly available health datasets and open-source healthcare analytics in one place. One idea would be rapidly building various healthcare application prototypes. Or, there may be some cool use cases I never have thought of. I am curious what's out there. What can we do with open-source analytics and all these public data sources? I would love to hear your thoughts! At Tuva Health we're open-sourcing quality measures as code. Healthcare quality measures are typically available as PDFs. Running them on your data means translating the complex logic from PDFs into code, which can take weeks or months per measure. This week we're releasing our 11th quality measure! If you're using Tuva, all 11 quality measures run out-of-the-box on your data. Even more, Tuva runs quality measures across **all** your data sources. Increasingly healthcare orgs have access to multiple data sources (e.g. claims, medical records, FHIR, ADT).
