Today the Oneida Indian Nation announced that 32 additional New York State businesses have been selected to work on the Turning Stone Evolution. This latest announcement brings the total number of companies contributing to the resort’s massive expansion to nearly 90, with almost 60 of those businesses based within New York state. When completed in 2028, the Evolution will make us Upstate New York’s largest conference and events destination and one of just three venues of similar size and caliber across the state. Along the way, it will also create new opportunities for these local businesses and many more as they help the Oneida Indian Nation expand its role as an economic engine in our region. The Verona Collective dispensary at Verona Crossroads is home to a new mural that’s more than just a beautiful work of art. Bold, colorful and eye-catching, the mural features a “from the ground up” theme that reflects the Oneida Indian Nation’s seed-to-sale approach to its cannabis enterprise. The mural’s artist also has a special connection to Turning Stone Resort Casino and our team. Before he was one of the Northeast’s top muralist, Russell Mason was a sixteen year old with a part-time job at Turning Stone. After college, he returned to the resort again as a server at TS Steakhouse. Most recently, he got to know our incredible team at Verona Collective while creating the Verona Crossroads dispensary’s new mural. We are so proud of everything Russell has achieved throughout his career, from his time with us to his experience with organizations like the Buffalo Bills, Amazon and others, and for the opportunity to showcase some of his amazing work at Verona Collective! Perfection might seem like an impossible standard, but for our team members at Maple Leaf Markets and SavOn stores, it’s just another day on the job. Yesterday we held our thirteenth annual 100 Club luncheon, an event that celebrates team members who receive perfect scores during mystery shops that test an individual’s skill, friendliness, respectful service and more. And while earning a single perfect score is a major accomplishment, we’re proud to say that numerous team members were honored for receiving multiple scores of 100 throughout the past year. Along with those who gave 100% and then some, we also honored long-time team members and recognized store teams that exceeded goals and helped raise substantial funds for charity. As Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Turning Stone Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said during yesterday’s event, “Each time you earn a perfect score on a mystery shop, you demonstrate your passion for your craft and the high standards that our entire team aspires to.” Here’s to the newest members of the 100 Club – and a huge thank you for everything they do to support our guests and our team.
