关于我们
Turner Seed is a one-stop source for native & improved grasses, wildlife, wildflower and field seed. In 1961, Bob Turner started Turner Soil Conservation Service, a dozer business that specialized in applying conservation practices to the land. Bob became interested in the different grasses that are used for pastures and fields and in 1974, started helping a friend harvest Kleingrass 75 with his homemade brush sweeper. This was the beginning of Bob Turner Seed Co. The seed company grew when Bob's son Darcy graduated from Texas A&M in 1978 with a B.S in agronomy. Darcy has since expanded the business in wildlife and wildflower areas. J Mercer joined the company in 1985. He is now in sales and consulting. If you have a question, need some advice or want to know prices, J will be glad to help. Bob's daughter, Julie Turner Calkins, graduated in 1985 from Tarleton State University, joined the company in 1988, and is now the office manager.

Annual ryegrass is a short lived cool season annual . It germinates and establishes quickly and is used in both the northern and southern regions of the United States for erosion control, temporary turf, as a cover crop, and as a pasture grass. Annual ryegrass adapts to a wide variety of soils and prefers full sun. As a cool season, annual ryegrass germinates best when soil temperatures are approximately 50°F - 65°F.? TurnerSeed.com

Due to extreme heat and lack of moisture, August typically is not ideal for planting any seed. Even with irrigation it can be hard to establish the hardiest of plants in 100 degree heat. Cooler temps in September and October are more ideal. Check out more info on best times to plant at TurnerSeed.com.
