St. Louis' Chapter of the National Campaign for Grade Level Reading. It's Your Turn. Become a Leader. Be a Reader.
关于我们
The mission of Turn the Page STL, the St. Louis Chapter of the National Campaign for Grade Level Reading, is to work together, align and lead a city- county wide literacy initiative, in order to increase the number of children that are reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade in the St. Louis Community. Based on our collectively written Strategic Plan, we are focused on five factors that lead to why a child is not reading proficiently. Those factors include improving kindergarten readiness, summer learning, teacher preparedness, family engagement and community awareness. This work is viewed through a racial equity lens with the understanding that racial inequity in metropolitan St. Louis’ public education system has contributed to generations of under literate citizens.

Thanks to Turn the Page STL, twelve summer camp programs in St. Louis are embracing an hour-of-literacy-a-day to reduce the summer slide. As part of this program, local authors are visiting the camps to get kids excited about reading, writing, speaking and illustrating! Thank you Micheal Anderson for reading from your Zoey Lyndon series, (https://lnkd.in/g5AMKSWw) at the Gateway Region YMCA Bayer location! All campers also received their own signed copy of the book to take home! #stlreads
