Steadying the Rollercoaster ????? Fighting cancer is already a tough battle, but when an earthquake struck on February 6th, hundreds of children saw their struggles multiply overnight. Kanserli ?ocuklara Umut Vakf? (KA?UV) stepped in, ensuring uninterrupted care and essential support for 323 children undergoing treatment in the disaster-affected region and their families.?? For these families, KA?UV’s support was transformative. It allowed parents to focus on their child’s treatment and emotional recovery, knowing their basic needs were met. Beyond the tangible relief, the gift cards symbolized compassion and solidarity, reminding families that they were not alone in their fight against cancer and disaster recovery. We are honored to stand alongside KA?UV in supporting children with cancer and their families, helping them navigate this dual challenge with dignity and resilience. "What excites me is seeing people give when they see the impact, feel the joy of that impact, and understand its meaning." Meet Filiz Bikmen, a Turkish American trained as an organizational psychologist from New York who now lives in Istanbul. Her way of giving back takes a different approach—through her profession. She has been working in civil society and philanthropy for the past 25 years, allowing her to continuously contribute to our communities. TPF holds a very special place in her heart, as Filiz was one of its founding Board Members. Having been involved with TPF since its inception, she believes its most valuable aspect is connecting resources with communities and organizations in Türkiye.
