We improve the quality of life for people affected by HIV and Hepatitis C through tailored care & comprehensive support.
关于我们
Tulsa CARES was founded in 1991 as a community response to the growing need for coordinated HIV/AIDS care during some of the darkest days of the epidemic. For more than three decades, Tulsa CARES has provided a compassionate response as HIV/AIDS has evolved from a fatal illness to a chronically-managed disease. Today, Tulsa CARES is the largest and most comprehensive provider of prevention and care programs serving low income individuals living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C in the state. We recognize the critical importance of addressing social determinants of health to improve community health and reduce costs, and we specialize in wrap-around, client-tailored care that is rooted in principles of empowerment, self-worth, inclusion, and hope.

_________ ?? October 15 is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD)! HIV continues to disproportionately affect the Latinx community. Structural inequities, lack of healthcare access, and fear of stigma contribute to higher HIV rates among Latinx individuals. 1 in 6 Latinx people living with HIV are unaware of their status, and new diagnoses in the community are 3 times higher than in non-Hispanic whites. It's time to speak up, get tested, and stand together to fight these disparities.

National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day! ?? Today, we recognize the resilience of older adults living with HIV. This year’s theme, "Protect Our Aging Populations: Meeting New Challenges to Live Longer and Improve Lives!", emphasizes the unique healthcare needs of older adults and the social factors that impact their ability to live healthy lives. As people age with HIV, they face new challenges, including managing multiple health conditions, accessing affordable care, and overcoming stigma. Social determinants like housing, income, access to healthcare, and community support play a critical role in ensuring our aging populations can thrive. HIV knows no age! Regular testing and prevention are still essential for older adults, many of whom remain sexually active. Need a test or safer-sex items? Call our office or walk-in during agency hours!
