Electrical Trades Students: Installing underground PSO electrical conduits and service feeders to power the community. ?? ??? Carpentry Students: Prepping rebar for concrete footings and gearing up to pour concrete for PSO’s transformers and electrical service pad. ?? This hands-on project gives our students real-world experience while making a positive impact in the community. ??
?? Culinary students joined forces to craft a delicious assortment of holiday pies, from classic apple and pecan to indulgent chocolate and berry-filled creations. Proving You’re Never Too Old to Learn At 69 years young, Sandra Holloway is proving that age is no barrier to pursuing your passions. A student in the Carpentry program, Holloway is diving into her classes with enthusiasm. She’s dedicating three hours a day, five days a week to mastering carpentry—a dream she’s cherished since high school. “When I was in high school, I wanted to take shop, but girls weren’t allowed to be in the class,” Holloway said. “I took home economics instead. I learned to sew, but I always had a love of tools. The training through our Workforce and Economic Development team is a win-win keeping cadets near their families and helping local departments fill their ranks. ??
