Tufts Medicine is proud to announce that Dr. Bernice Burkarth, Chief Medical Officer for Tufts Medicine Care at Home, received the prestigious Heart of Hospice award on September 19 at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Annual Conference. Dr. Burkarth also co-presented with Dr. Tamara Vesel, Chief of Palliative Care at Tufts Medical Center, on their research, “Applying Qualitative Research to Build Palliative Care." This award highlights Dr. Burkarth's exceptional contributions to hospice care and her deep commitment to patients and colleagues. We are incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Burkarth as part of our team, and this well-deserved recognition is a testament to her remarkable impact on the lives of so many. Tufts Medicine is saddened to share the passing of longtime Tufts Medical Center infectious disease physician and Tufts University School of Medicine professor, Dr. David Stone.
