March 21, 2025, marks the deadline for most companies to file their initial Beneficial Owner reports under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA)—but with a blanket stay on enforcement, many are holding off. Recent announcements from FinCEN and the U.S. Department of the Treasury confirm that no penalties will be enforced for failure to file at this time. Meanwhile, legislative and legal challenges could reshape reporting requirements. Read our latest Client Alert from Erica E. McGregor, Kristen Baracy, and Grayson Sieg for key updates and what this means for your business. #CorporateTransparencyAct #CTA #Compliance #FinCEN #BusinessLaw

Leaders who embrace diverse perspectives often drive innovation, introduce fresh problem-solving strategies, and foster collaboration in ways that create lasting change. Strong leadership isn’t just about making decisions—it's about empowering others, challenging the status quo, and opening doors for future generations. Susan Racey, a partner in our Trusts & Estates Group, reflects on the outcomes of the leadership roles she’s held throughout her career: “I have been given the opportunity to collaborate with extraordinary professionals to effectuate real positive change, including helping to modernize and significantly improve Ohio trust, estate probate and family laws, bring peace of mind to thousands of people, lift up others, and show folks that they are capable of things they did not know possible.” In our next Women’s History Month spotlight, Susan offers her advice to the next generation of women in leadership.

Women remain underrepresented in intellectual property law, particularly in the patent field. That’s why having strong women role models—whether as firm partners, in-house counsel, or inventors—is critical for fostering inclusion and inspiration in the profession. In our latest Women’s History Month spotlight, Anna (Stanton) Nelson, an associate in our Intellectual Property Department, shares how seeing women in IP law excel while balancing their careers and families has shaped her outlook: “On really busy days, I sometimes contemplate whether I want kids in my future—work alone can take up so much of my time and energy,” Anna says. “But then I remind myself of the women I know who do it every day, which gives me motivation and hope that I can do it, too.”
