Which cannabis company lays the best claim to being the Coca-Cola of our industry? For my money, it’s Kiva Brands, Inc. → Beloved house of brands → Competent leadership → Excellent distribution → True loyal following → Big staying power Kiva was founded in 2010 (!) Which is like the Bronze Age in cannabis. Today, their sales are in the quarter billion territory. New SKUs & brands keep rolling out. They keep expanding eastwards. Extremely impressive. Let’s dive in. → Product Product Product From day one, Kiva has been staunchly product-forward. Quality + consistency Remember how SCARY edibles were from 2010-2018?? Is it 100mg or 500mg?! Who knows! Good luck with your danger dose! Kiva stood out for being trustworthy. They have built on that with: → Lots of variety → Quality ingredients → Beautiful packaging NO ONE else was doing this back then.? NO ONE is doing it as well today. → Incredible Focus Kiva has mastered edibles. It’s what they do. No beverages, vapes, prerolls. None of that. Exceptional edibles in a variety of forms and brands. Edibles is a great category because the consumers are STICKY. And Kiva is adept at getting that oh-so important first sale. Tepid new consumers flock to them and stick to them. They also show focus strategically. Kiva DOMINATED California before moving on. Even as their footprint broadens, they still own their home turf. → Quality Team What can I say about Kristi Palmer and her team that hasn’t already been said. Her and her husband are the architects of this great company. She was one of the first female founders in the space, and has inspired countless others.
