  • Volunteers are at the heart of what we do at Tu Nidito, and we are looking for some more who have huge hearts to support our parents and caregivers two evenings a month from 6-9 PM. We will host a Parent/Caregiver Facilitator training April 30th from 5-9pm. Training will include all the skills needed to co-facilitate an adult peer support group. This training is a good fit for volunteers with prior experience leading adult groups, but no experience is required. Applicants should be comfortable supporting grieving parents and caregivers. Does this sound like you or someone you know? Apply today at the link: https://lnkd.in/gQAjiGae

  • TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW! The Remarkable Celebration is right around the corner. This year we are honoring five amazing women: Candace Geary, Rhonda Leinberger, Liz Rodriguez Miller, Michele Ordo?ez, and Michelle Ruiz. • We are excited to unveil our rebrand to strengthen our presence, increase engagement, and enhance our impact on children, teens, young adults, and families affected by serious medical conditions or death as well as to help educate our community about grief and that it's okay to feel all of your emotions. We've updated our logo to be more representative of the heart of Tu Nidito within our community, we've changed our tagline to share that we are your place for grief support and we’ve redesigned the website for better user experience and navigation. We hope you are as excited about the new look as we are! Visit the website today at www.tunidito.org. If you haven’t been to Our Little Nest in a while, we would love to host you for a scheduled tour or at our Spring Open House on Friday, April 18 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. RSVP by emailing [email protected]

  • This past week Tu Nidito Volunteers have been putting on a play for Littles and Middles! "A Funeral Fit for a King" illustrates what saying goodbye to our special persons can look like, and the kids see their own grief experiences acted out in the play. Some children, especially those who may not feel comfortable sharing verbally can find it easier to express emotions and thoughts through a puppet rather than speaking about their own feelings directly. Relating to a puppet experiencing similar emotions as themselves can help them feel less alone, too. What would you say to your own puppet if you had the opportunity? How did you say goodbye to your special person? Saying goodbye can be difficult and emotional, but it also helps us honor our special person and find ways to keep them close by.

    • Two puppets pop out of a curtain on a play stage set up in our Middles Forest Room
  • Thank you to our friends at Arizona Department of Corrections, Team 61, who put together these cute Valentine's Day Goodie bags for Tu Nidito kids last week. Valentine's Day can be a difficult holiday for families who have a spouse or parent who has died, and this little treat brought a smile to their faces.?

    • A goodie bag of Valentines with candy and positive messages for Tu Nidito families.
  • Our welcome kits are here! At orientation, newly enrolled families will receive a combination of stress balls, worry stones, plushies, fidget toys, journals, bubbles, and resources to support them at the beginning stages of their grief journey. These resources will include age-appropriate books and activities to help them start a dialogue together. We want to remind everyone that attends our group that you are the expert in your own grief. No one can ever fully understand the depth of your love and grief the way that you do. There is no “right” way to grieve, and no timeline. Tu Nidito offers a community that will be right there with you—supporting, encouraging, and reminding you that At Tu Nidito it's ok to: to grieve. to be sad. to ask questions. to wonder. to smile.
