Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center recently identified information technology issues that resulted in temporary disruption to some computer systems and applications. We’re working diligently to investigate these issues and return all systems, services and applications to full operations as quickly as possible. The next Medication Cleanout collection event is TOMORROW! Organized by the TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy, the Texas Panhandle Poison Center is hosting this year’s Fall Medication Cleanout in Lubbock from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 5 outside the Texas Tech Physicians Medical Pavilion at 3601 Fourth St. Drive through to drop off unwanted medicines and sharps to dispose of them in a free, legal and environmentally responsible manner.

The TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy #Amarillo campus recently held a Fall picnic for students, staff, faculty and their families. Attendees enjoyed food, games and fellowship.

After more than a decade of research growth and recruiting efforts to build strong, collaborative research programs, the?TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy?in Amarillo has developed the newest?#TTUHSC?research center – the Brain Drug Discovery Center. It will focus on discovering novel drug targets and treatments for a variety of neurodegenerative diseases.

Last week, TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy had the privilege of welcoming our inaugural cohort of Pioneer Pathway students for their first immersion week and White Coat Ceremony. The Pioneer Pathway is a groundbreaking learning approach that integrates online, immersive and experiential learning; offering a flexible, accessible, and affordable option for aspiring pharmacists.

Last month, 35 TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy faculty, staff, and students had the opportunity to be part of two groups that visited the Walgreens micro-fulfillment center, a specialty clinic and enjoyed a lunch and learn session.

“Two future pharmacists in the family now??????” M’Kenzi, a P2 at the #Amarillo campus, welcomed her sister Jordan, an incoming P1, as she received her pharmacy white coat last month! New Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) students at the TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy at the Abilene, Amarillo and Dallas campuses participate in white coat ceremonies where they receive their coats and recite the oath of the pharmacist.
