This 10,000-square-foot, single-family residence will remain one of our favorite projects to have been a part of, as the structural elements are an integral part of the architectural aesthetic. A large, exposed moment frame helps to create a two-story glazed fa?ade at the rear of the home. On the interior, a 5-1/2-inch-thick, cast-in-place concrete stairway appears to float above the floor with just the step profile being featured as the stair stringer. It is rare that the support members of a structure are so elegantly incorporated into the architecture as a whole.
