With New Zealand's recent proposed consent for liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, we explore the differences between LNG and black pellets. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG): Efficiency: High heat output and efficiency make it ideal for operations requiring high temperatures. Challenges: Higher initial setup costs and complex infrastructure. Environmental Impact: As a fossil fuel, LNG does not align with New Zealand’s net zero goals. ?? Black Pellets: Cost-Effective: Generally lower setup costs compared to LNG. Sustainability: Offers a greener alternative with approximately 90% less emissions than coal. Integration: Easier to incorporate into existing systems, promoting a smoother transition to sustainable energy.
