Big changes are coming. Are you ready? Starting December 30, 2025, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will take effect — with a clear goal: No products linked to deforestation entering or exiting the EU. For the fashion industry, that means new scrutiny on materials like rubber, wood, and leather — along with other global commodities like beef, palm oil, soy, coffee, and cocoa. Watch the full webinar to understand what this means for your supply chain — and how to prepare before the deadline hits: https://lnkd.in/dZ7jQh-b

The EU Omnibus Simplification Package eases some sustainability regulations—but that doesn’t mean brands can step back from traceability and transparency. Key changes: - CSRD: Only applies to companies with 1,000+ employees, delaying reporting until 2028. - CSDDD: Due diligence now limited to direct suppliers, with extended compliance deadlines. Regulations may shift, but market expectations remain high. Brands that invest in traceability now will stay ahead—protecting their business from risks, reputational damage, and future regulatory shifts. Stay proactive. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g62KGbPD

At SXSW 2025, one message was clear: sustainability needs more than good intentions—it requires data, transparency, and accountability. Here are the key takeaways from our panel with Tapestry, adidas and Techstyler: Facts Over Fiction – Brands can no longer rely on sustainability storytelling alone. Consumers, investors, and regulators demand data-backed transparency to build real trust. Sustainability Is Nuanced – What’s “better” isn’t always black and white. Take vegan leather vs. real leather: - Vegan leather is fossil-fuel-based, raising concerns about long-term environmental impact. - Real leather is a by-product of the meat industry and could end up in landfills if not repurposed. Data is essential to evaluate the full picture. A Product Without Data Is a Liability – If you don’t know a product’s origin and impact, you’re not just missing a sustainability story—you’re exposed to legal, reputational, and compliance risks. DPPs Are the Future – Digital Product Passports (DPPs) will empower consumers to make informed choices, but their impact goes beyond that. They will help governments and industries build better recycling infrastructure and drive circularity at scale. As regulations tighten and consumer expectations rise, brands that embrace traceability and data-driven transparency will lead the way. Let’s move beyond the narrative and into action.
