Trust Neighborhoods

This Saturday, Trust Neighborhoods joined East Colfax Community Collective (EC3) and over a hundred East Colfax neighborhood residents and partners to celebrate the launch of the East Colfax Mixed-Income Neighborhood Trust. The East Colfax MINT, or EC MINT, is the fifth MINT in the nation, and the first in Colorado. This project has been two years in the making, with EC3's membership selecting the MINT model as one of two priority strategies for fighting displacement. This first acquisition, a 23-unit apartment building in the heart of the focus area, was made possible with funding from The Colorado Health Foundation, Gary Community Ventures, Mercy Community Capital (Mercy Housing), and Colorado Housing Accelerator Initiative (CHAI). This is an important milestone for EC MINT, and the first step in securing permanent, affordable housing under community control in the East Colfax Corridor. Trust Neighborhoods is excited to announce we have been selected as part of New Profit's Second Economic Mobility cohort! We are alongside 15 other amazing organizations driving economic mobility in partnership with communities across America. This speaks to the role Mixed-Income Neighborhood Trusts (MINTs) are already playing in securing a place for residents in neighborhoods as they become higher opportunity.
