For pressure vessels, long weldnecks are crucial components designed to handle high pressures and temperatures, providing a secure connection point for various vessel components. Their elongated design helps distribute stress more evenly, reducing failure likelihood under extreme conditions. Properly welding and inspecting these weldnecks is essential to maintain vessel efficiency and safety.

Transit times via sea are still an issue creating longer lead times for incoming material from Overseas. The article below is a good read on current shipping challenges. https://buff.ly/4bpwjAO

Trupply carries Pipes, Valves, & Fittings that conforms to NACE specification MR0103 & MR0175 for Sulfide Stress Cracking (SSC) resistance. It is often a question asked by customers about NACE conformance. Below is the abstract and paper presented at a NACE conference that highlights the difference nicely. NACE MR0103 "Materials Resistant to Sulfide Stress Cracking in Corrosive Petroleum Refining Environments" was developed by Task Group 231 to provide a standard set of requirements for materials used in sour petroleum refinery equipment. In the past, NACE MR0175 , "Sulfide Stress Cracking Resistant Metallic Materials for Oilfield Equipment", was frequently referenced for this equipment, even though refinery applications were outside the scope of MR0175. The process used to develop MR0103 is described, followed by a review of the requirements in the standard accompanied by highlights of the differences between MR0103 and the previous and current versions of MR0175. From a practical standpoint it is expected that for downstream applications a broad range of users and authors of equipment standards will adopt the new MR0103 standard, in many cases replacing the current application of MR0175. It is expected that use of the environmental guidelines and material requirements of MR0103, together with NACE RP0472 for weld hardness control of P-No. 1 carbon steels, will be broadly applied to piping, valves, process contacted bolting, pumps, and compressors used in the sour service areas of the refinery process units listed in Table 3 in order to prevent SSC. https://buff.ly/3RqBoRM

A 10-inch RFLWN flange heading to a customer. A long weld neck flange is a type of flange that has an extended neck, or hub, which is used to connect the flange to a pipe. This design provides reinforcement and extra support for the connection, making it ideal for high-pressure applications. The long neck also helps to reduce stress on the flange and pipe by distributing the load over a larger area. Overall, long weld neck flanges are known for their durability, strength, and reliability in various industrial settings. Elbolet and Laterolet are both used as branch connections in the piping industry, but they differ in design and usage. Elbolet, as the name suggests, is used for establishing a perpendicular or 90-degree branch connection from the 90-degree elbow. It is most effective in situations where the pipeline direction needs to be changed abruptly. The design of the Elbolet ensures that the fluid flow faces minimum turbulence and pressure drop, maintaining the efficiency of the system. On the contrary, a Laterolet is used to create a 45-degree branch connection from the main pipe. It is the fitting of choice for scenarios where a gentler change in direction is required. The design of Laterolet is also dictated by the need for space optimization, as its angle is less intrusive and more adaptable to limited spaces. In essence, the primary difference between Elbolet and Laterolet is the angle they form, 90 from an elbow and 45 degrees from a pipe respectively. Each has its own advantages and is selected based on the operational requirements of the piping system.
