Since 1968, TruexCullins has played a vital role in creating buildings that contribute lasting value to their inhabitants and communities. Our record and reputation testify to our excellence in designing structures — of all functions, sizes, and scale — that integrate harmoniously with their natural and built surroundings. We strive to create beautiful design solutions that are safe, flexible, comfortable, efficient and durable. Sustainable design is integral in all that we do at TruexCullins. As such, we work closely with our clients to significantly reduce energy consumption within new buildings, additions and renovated structures. Our approach is holistic. Energy consumption cannot be separated from sound building practice and the quality of the built indoor environment. We, therefore, advocate an approach to energy conservation that considers broad environmental design issues. While we strive to create beautiful works of architecture, we also focus on “less flashy” construction and design issues such as a sound building envelope, effective ventilation and heat recovery strategies, durable building materials, the use of renewable fuels (wind, hydro, biomass), water conservation, proper site placement and building orientation and the effective use of existing space within the renovated buildings.

We’d like to extend a big congratulations to Ethan Nutting and Zachary Rochman for passing the Architectural Registration Exam and becoming registered architects in the state of Vermont! Earning the title of Architect requires a dedicated effort, multiple exams and countless hours of work.?The Architect Registration Exam is administered by National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is taken in 6 parts, each exam corresponding to a different aspect of the profession.?Candidates for licensure are also required to track over 3,700 hours of on-the-job training, spread across 6 experience areas from Practice Management to Construction & Evaluation. Zach is a now a Project Architect in our residential studio. He earned his architectural degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and is also a LEED accredited professional. Ethan earned his architectural license earlier this year.?At TruexCullins he works across multiple studios on workplace, residential and educational projects.?Ethan holds a Master of Architecture degree from Norwich University and is also a member of CSI Vermont – the Construction Specifications Institute. As an architecture student, Dillon Tripamer expanded his studies into the fields of anthropology and archaeology. ?For the past two summers, Dillon’s pursuit of archaeological work brought him to excavation digs and surveys in the Great Plains of the United States, the backcountry of Croatia, and to a small Greek Island off the coast of Crete. Dillon is now an architectural designer with TruexCullins, and his experience with archaeological excavations has influenced his approach to architecture – that the spaces we inhabit tell the stories of our heritage, past and present.
