???????????? ???????????? — A cold air mass is set to move into the Eastern United States over the holiday weekend, bringing below-average temperatures that are likely to persist through mid-December. This pattern is expected to drive higher-than-usual demand for gas-weighted heating degree days across the region over the next two and a half weeks. ????????-???????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????????? ??????????-???????????? ?????????????????? ?? Much of the focus has been on a low-pressure system traversing the Northeast today into tomorrow. However, an equally, if not more, impressive story lies with the snowfall that occurs in the wake of this low. Lake-effect snow is already underway for areas along the eastern shores of Lakes Superior, Michigan, and Huron. As we move through Friday, the eastern shores of Lakes Erie and Ontario will join in. This lake-effect snow machine will persist through the weekend and into early next week. By the time it winds down late Tuesday or early Wednesday, many areas could see well over a foot of snow. In fact, several feet of snow are possible in some locations by midweek. To put this into perspective, snowfall totals of this magnitude could account for more than 50% of the average seasonal snowfall in some places, all delivered in just a matter of days. It's a remarkable early-season event! #GreatLakes #MIwx #WIwx #OHwx #PAwx #NYwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

???????? ?????????? ???????????? ???????????? ???????????? ???????? ?????????????? ?? While the snow is still flying around the Denver Metro this morning, where the snowfall rates have subsided the roadways are primarily wet and passable at this hour as seen here on the traffic camera of Interstate 70. However, heavier rates still exist in some, particularly south of the city, and in those locations, accumulations are still possible on roadways until the snowfall tapers off around midday. #Rockies #Denver #COwx #winter #winterishere #snow #snowfall #snowfighters #snowpros #snowplowing #snowremoval #snowandice #ice #deicing #brine #salt #snowandicemanagement #landscaping #landscapers #contractors #facilitymanager #facilitymanagement #facilitiesmanagement #truewx

??????????????????-???????????? ???????? ?????????? ???????????????? ?????????????????? ?? As we monitor the winter storm system set to impact areas from the Ohio Valley to New England this evening through early Friday morning, much of the snowfall in the interior Northeast is expected to be heavily influenced by elevation. While locations below 500 feet, particularly in the Ohio Valley, will see some snowfall, accumulations in these areas are likely to remain light and confined mainly to non-paved surfaces. Snowfall becomes more significant at elevations of 500 feet or higher, where we anticipate accumulations of 1–4" in many areas. Higher elevations could see totals exceeding 5", with a greater portion of this snow accumulating on paved surfaces as elevation increases. In places like Cazenovia, New York, snowfall is forecast to be more substantial, with 9–13" expected on non-paved surfaces and 5–8" accumulating on roadways. These totals will be driven by intense snowfall rates, which could approach or exceed 0.5" per hour on Thursday, particularly from mid-morning through early evening. #Northeast #OhioValley #NewEngland #PAwx #NYwx #MAwx #VTwx #NHwx #MEwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

??????????, ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ????????????????'?? ?????????? ?????????? ?????????????? ??????. ???? ?? Snow in the higher elevations Of the central Rockies will gradually work its way into Colorado's Front Range later on tonight and stick around through midday Wednesday. For most locations around the Denver Metro anywhere from 2-5" is expected with locally upwards of 5" is possible, especially south and west of the city. However, only a fraction of those accumulations will stick to paved surfaces as the heavy, wet snow and warm temperatures will limit what occurs on roadways. #Rockies #Denver #Colorado #COwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

??????????, ?????? ???????? ???? ???????????? ???????? ???????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????? ?? The models have aligned on a track for the storm system, indicating snow from the Ohio Valley through interior parts of the Northeast from late Wednesday night through Friday morning. This projected path carries the low-pressure system from the Tennessee Valley through the Northern Mid-Atlantic, Southern New England, and eventually into the Gulf of Maine—closely matching the trends suggested by the ECMWF suite in recent days. While the models agree on the track, there is still significant uncertainty regarding the storm's intensity and, consequently, how much cold air it will draw in as it moves northeast. At this time, we anticipate a swath of snow totaling 1-5" across the Northern Ohio Valley, Western Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, and Northern New England. Some higher elevations could see localized amounts exceeding 6". This is expected to be a heavy, wet snow, which may struggle to accumulate on paved surfaces unless snowfall rates are sufficiently high. #Northeast #NewEngland #MidAtlantic #Ohio Valley #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

???????????? ?????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????????? ?? We’re closely monitoring a developing storm system expected to bring snowfall to parts of the Ohio Valley and Northeast from late Wednesday evening through early Friday morning. Key differences between major weather models, particularly the ECMWF (Euro) and GFS, center on the strength of the low-pressure system as it enters the Tennessee Valley Wednesday night, which will significantly influence its path either tracking through the Northeast or moving out to sea via the Mid-Atlantic. The ECMWF and many of its ensemble members suggest a stronger low, which favors a more amplified trajectory. This scenario could result in a broader swath of snow stretching from the northern Ohio Valley into interior portions of the Northeast. Conversely, the GFS and its ensembles continue to depict a weaker low, favoring a flatter, more progressive track. This would confine significant snowfall primarily to the higher elevations of the Central Appalachians. Meanwhile, the CMC (Canadian model) and its members offer a middle-ground solution, leaning slightly toward the ECMWF’s stronger low scenario. Interestingly, the weaker and flatter progression was more widely supported by model guidance just a few days ago. As the upper-level energy associated with this system moves onto the West Coast early Tuesday, we should gain a clearer picture of how this system will evolve. #Northeast #NewEngland #MidAtlantic #Ohio Valley #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

?????????? ???????????? ?????????????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ???????????? ?????? ?????????????????? ?? While there's still some heavier band of snow cycling through, this system will gradually diminish across New York and the northern Atlantic through this evening. With that said, those heavier bands may still result in a slushy coating on roadways in some locations this afternoon and evening. The exceptions to that are the higher elevations of the Catskills, Poconos, and Allegheny Mountains, where snowfall will continue into early Saturday. #Northeast #MidAtlantic #WVwx #MDwx #PAwx #NJwx #NYwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate
