?????????? ???????? & ???????????????? ???????????????????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ?????????? ?????????????? ?? A rapidly intensifying low-pressure system is set to deliver heavy snow and dangerous winds from the Central Plains to the Upper Midwest through Wednesday evening. Snowfall rates will frequently reach or exceed 1" per hour, especially late this afternoon through sunrise on Wednesday as the storm strengthens. A snow swath of 2-6" is still expected to stretch from eastern Nebraska through southeast South Dakota, much of Iowa, southeast Minnesota, northwest Wisconsin, and into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, with localized totals exceeding 7". The Twin Cities will be situated on the northwest edge of the heaviest snowfall, placing the metro comfortably in the 2-6" with heavier amounts likely to the southeast. Sustained winds of 25 mph or more are also anticipated during the storm, with gusts over 40 mph leading to blowing and drifting snow, significantly reducing visibility and creating blizzard conditions in some areas. #Plains #Midwest #GreatLakes #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

???????? ?????????????? ?????????? ???? ?????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ?????????????? & ???????????? ?? As one system exits later today, all eyes turn to the next storm set to bring snow to the central Rockies and Central Plains from late Thursday morning through Friday afternoon. The latest model guidance is converging on a narrow band of 2-6" of snow, with locally higher amounts expected, stretching from eastern Wyoming through southern South Dakota, northern Nebraska, and western Iowa. Beyond these areas, the storm’s intensity will fade as it moves east through the Ohio Valley and into the Mid-Atlantic. While snow is still expected, most areas in these regions will see around an inch or less of accumulation. #Rockies #Plains #WYwx #SDwx #NEwx #IAwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

???????????????? ?????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ??? As a powerful storm rapidly intensifies across the Central United States on Tuesday, the threat of severe weather will slide across the southern Plains and lower Mississippi Valley. trueWeather's NAM 3km Tornado Index pinpoints the highest risk zone stretching from eastern Texas through northern Louisiana into southern Mississippi, where conditions are most favorable for strong, potentially violent tornadoes. Surrounding areas will also face the risk of severe thunderstorms, bringing damaging wind gusts, hail, and tornadoes, though with less frequency and intensity. #SevereWeather #SevereWx #Tornado #Hail #Weather #WeatherUpdate

???????????????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ?? Over the past few days, we've watched as forecast models consistently reduced expected snowfall along and east of the Interstate 25 corridor from northern New Mexico through Colorado and into southern Wyoming. As a result, snowfall totals exceeding 2" will be isolated along the corridor this evening through Tuesday evening, with most locations now expected to receive around 1" or less. Even where snow does fall, only a fraction is likely to stick to paved surfaces. The culprit? Warmer air mixing into the system, limiting snow accumulation. However, in a narrow band south of Denver and north of Colorado Springs, heavier snowfall rates near or exceeding 0.5" per hour could briefly overcome warm pavement temperatures, allowing for some accumulation. One standout location in this zone is Castle Rock, Colorado, where 2-4" of snow is expected through Tuesday morning and up to an additional inch of snow possible Tuesday afternoon into the evening. Thanks to those heavier snowfall rates, more of it could stick to roads compared to other areas along the corridor. Meanwhile, higher elevations west of I-25 will cash in on the colder temperatures, with many mountain locations on track to receive a foot or more of snow by Wednesday morning. #Rockies #Colorado #Denver #FrontRange #COwx #NMwx #WYwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

?????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ?????? ???????????? ???? ?????????? ?????????? ?? Confidence is increasing in a rapidly strengthening low-pressure system tracking from the Central Plains to the Great Lakes Tuesday morning through Wednesday night. This system is expected to produce a broad swath of snow extending from the Central Plains into the Upper Great Lakes. While the exact placement of the snow swath remains uncertain, many locations within this corridor can potentially receive more than 2" of snow, with localized amounts upwards of 6" probable. #Plains #Midwest #GreatLakes #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

?????????????? ???? ???????????????????????????? ????????????! ?? March 1st marks the official start of Meteorological Spring, the season that runs from March 1 – May 31. Unlike Astronomical Spring, which begins on the Spring Equinox (around March 19-21), meteorologists break the seasons into neat three-month blocks based on annual temperature cycles. Why the difference? Meteorological seasons align with the calendar months, making it easier for climate tracking and comparing year-over-year data. Astronomical seasons, on the other hand, are based on Earth’s tilt and orbit around the Sun, meaning their start dates shift slightly each year. So even if it still feels like winter in some places, spring has officially begun in the weather world! ?? Who’s ready for longer days, blooming flowers, and a few more spring thunderstorms? ?? #Spring #MeteorologicalSpring #SpringHasSprung #Weather

???????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????? ???????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????????? ??? We're closely monitoring the potential for a significant severe weather outbreak from the Southern Plains through parts of the Deep South and into the Southeast from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night. A rapidly intensifying low-pressure system tracking from the Central Plains to the Great Lakes will push a cold front across these regions, triggering a cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms. By Wednesday, as the cold front nears the Atlantic Coast, the strongest dynamics for severe weather will have diminished. #SevereWeather #SevereWx #Tornado #Hail #Weather #WeatherUpdate

?????????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ?? The latest model guidance continues to show increasing support for an area of low pressure strengthening over the central plains late Monday night through early Wednesday morning. As the strengthening is taking place, it is expected to pull cold air down along the spine of the Rockies, resulting in a moderate to significant snowfall event across the Central Rockies centered around Tuesday. While it's still early to get into specific amounts, there is potential for 2"+ along and east of the Interstate 25 corridor from around the Denver metro into southern Wyoming. #Rockies #Colorado #Denver #FrontRange #COwx #NMwx #WYwx #Winter #WinterIsHere #Snow #Snowfall #SnowFighters #SnowPros #Snowplowing #SnowRemoval #SnowAndIce #Ice #Deicing #Brine #Salt #SnowAndIceManagement #Weather #WeatherUpdate

???????????? ???????????? — The start of March will bring predominantly warmer temperatures across the Midwest, following a brief spell of cooler air. For much of the first half of the month, temperatures are expected to trend above average, leading to a reduced demand for gas-weighted heating degree days.
