True Wealth Ventures is an early-stage stage venture firm, led by two Austin-based women, Sara Brand and Kerry Rupp. The fund invests in women-led companies improving human and environmental health. Their investment thesis is that women-led companies perform better financially, as reported in many studies, yet are an untapped market with approximately 2% of venture dollars going to female-founded start-ups over the last decade. True Wealth Ventures was at the vanguard of this movement of women investing in women. Closing their ~$20M Fund I in Jan 2018 made them the largest VC fund ever raised with an exclusive gender-lens investment strategy, and with an unprecedented 80% of LPs identifying as women. The future of savvy investing is gender diverse.

We at True Wealth Ventures are thrilled to share the news of our latest investment, Fort Health - a company providing virtual pediatric behavioral health services. This investment comes after a deep dive into the mental health space, and we found that Fort Health had some great differentiators including partnering with the family's trusted pediatrician, leveraging the expertise of the Child Mind Institute, and offering a collaborative care model in addition to traditional psychology and psychiatry. The Company's offerings are currently live in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and this funding round will allow expansion into Illinois and Texas. We look forward to supporting CEO Natalie Schneider and her team as the company grows in this important space!
I'm excited to announce that Fort Health has raised $5.5M, allowing us to expand our mission of delivering pediatric behavioral health services to families in Texas and Illinois! ?? Thank you to our remarkable investors— Vanterra Capital, Twelve Below, The Blue Venture Fund, True Wealth Ventures, Child Mind Institute and Redesign Health —for believing in our vision. And a special shoutout to Morgan Gonzales, the talented journalist who captured our story so beautifully. I’m also deeply grateful to our fantastic payer partner, NovaWell. With the support of Suzanne Kunis, Rachel Kotok Goldberg, and Maria Celina Zoffranieri, we’re ready to make an even greater impact in these new regions. Finally, to my rockstar team at Fort Health — you inspire me every day with your talent, dedication, and relentless drive to improve youth mental health. Thank you for making this journey possible. Congratulations to our portfolio company, Rosy Wellness, for winning Startup of the Year Early Stage at Venture Dallas! ?? Congratulations to the entire Rosy team on this well-deserved recognition! #WomenInTech #HealthTech #FemTech #VentureDallas #WomenLedStartups #VentureCapitalCongratulations
So proud to share that Rosy Wellness took home Startup of the Year Early Stage at Venture Dallas! ?? Winning awards outside of the women's health ecosystem is incredibly meaningful as it signals recognition of the importance of our work outside of our own echo chambers...something that women's health founders know is truly special. Thank you to David Evans, Michelle Yeh Gillis, and all the selection committee members for this honor! This event just keeps getting better each year, and it is a pleasure to watch the ecosystem galvanize. It was great to connect with so many people including Stephanie Collins (women's health therapeutics @ Eido Bio), Laura Baldwin (investing in women via Golden Seeds and retail tech via RevTech Ventures), Jovelyn Castellanos, MHA (supporting healthcare founders at Health Wildcatters), Danguole Altman Cx Precision Medicine, Inc. (working on precision diagnostics for dementia), Jesse Draper (investing in women and inspiring others to do the same Halogen Ventures), Ansley Carlisle (investing in great ideas at Mark Cuban Companies), Kevin Lavelle (working on a better baby monitor with night nanny services @ Harbor), and Wyatt Smith (upskilling workers to fill unmet needs @ UpSmith), Andreas Melder (of Cercle working in AI and infertility), and to see Quincy Preston of Dallas Innovates. Great job to the whole planning committee! Until next year! #venturedallas #venturecapital #womenshealth

Proud to see our General Partner Kerry Rupp featured among an impressive lineup of leaders in Season 6 of the Invisible Ink podcast! The season covered crucial insights for founders, particularly women entrepreneurs seeking funding. Key takeaways align perfectly with what we see at True Wealth Ventures: - Building fundable startups requires both passion and data-driven validation - Investor relationships are long-term partnerships - choose wisely - Financial acumen is non-negotiable for fundraising success - Early-stage documentation and cap table management matter - Women founders must navigate unique challenges while staying authentic Kerry's episode focused on providing clear, actionable guidance for building VC-backable companies, especially in the impact space. Her insights draw from years of experience investing in women-led companies improving human and environmental health. Congratulations to Invisible Ink on a successful Season 6! We're honored to be part of this important conversation about venture capital and startup funding. The Invisible Ink podcast just wrapped up Season 6 with an impressive cast of guests! As I?reviewed the episodes, I was struck by the depth, candor and realism that every single guest brought to the table. Key themes: ? A fundable startup marries both head and heart - A great startup begins with an urgent need that's uniquely visible, even visceral, to the founder - But it has to be backed by solid and objective data you can bring to the table - Few ideas survive first contact with the market - don't just be okay with this - actively plan for it ? The investor and investment nuances matter - Different funding sources come into play at different points, and have different implications. Pick with care. - Investor relationships last longer than many marriages. Proceed accordingly. - It's not just about valuation: it's about?all?the terms in the term sheet. Ignore them at your peril. ? The financials are important! - Having mastery over your financials and demonstrating financial acumen is a non-negotiable with investors - Use the model to tell a compelling financial story about your business and bring credibility to your ask - Even at an early stage, your financial model matters! ? Don't neglect the details of ownership from day one - Mind the boring stuff:?keep records and documents?organized and up-to-date, especially cap table, stock awards - Understand the nuances of different equity types, like restricted stock and options, and when to use each - Understand how payouts could work differently than "ownership", especially for founders' equity ? It's tough as a woman, but you have to play to win - You have to own your power to play. Mitigate the perception disadvantage by dialing up your warmth - Select investors carefully: if you have to start from a negative, move on. Most importantly, trust your gut! - Learn to negotiate aggressively and advocate for yourself and your company. There's a lot more where that came from, so we handpicked the very best of each episode and packaged it up for your viewing pleasure! Check out this special collection on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gzQGFj_8 Or listen wherever you get your podcast fix! We're thrilled to see our portfolio company, Partum Health, nominated as a finalist for the Chicago Innovation Top 100! ?? Partum Health is revolutionizing maternal care with its comprehensive approach, addressing critical gaps in support for new and expecting parents. Their innovative model combines behavioral health, lactation support, physical therapy, doula services, and more as standard care during pregnancy and postpartum. The impact of their work is clear - just ask any new parent about their experience, and you'll likely hear about the need for better support. Partum Health is answering the call with their "whole person care" approach. Now, they need your help to win the People's Choice award! Your vote can help amplify their mission to improve maternal care for all. ??? Cast your vote for Partum Health here: https://lnkd.in/gcbrkWU Let's support this crucial initiative to enhance the pregnancy and postpartum experience. Vote for Partum Health and be part of the movement to transform maternal care!
Call your mom...then vote for Partum Health! We've been selected as a finalist for the Chicago Innovation Top 100 - and we need your help to take home the People's Choice! If you're wondering whether there's a need to step up the support women and families receive during pregnancy and postpartum, reach out to parents you know to ask about the experience. Ask whether they knew what the physical effects of pregnancy, labor and postpartum would be, if they had the support they needed to breastfeed, if their mental health ever suffered in the transition. The most common thing we hear when we tell people about Partum Health's whole person care is "where were you when I had my kids?". Ask a person who has given birth or a partner who have held the hand of someone giving birth and they will probably tell you - there were pretty major gaps. The modern approach we have designed at Partum Health with behavioral health, lactation, PT, doula support, and more as the standard in pregnancy and postpartum is needed to fill those gaps. Today you have a very concrete way to support this mission and the movement to improve maternal care - vote for us for the People's Choice in Chicago Innovation's Top 100 competition. Thank you! And thank your mom!
