This month I had a chance to attend True Ventures Founder Camp in Ojai, California and the experience left me with some valuable tools and information to bring home. I was impressed from start to finished, learned a ton and had the chance to reconnect with incredible people. Thank you Christiaan Vorkink for bringing Kickback into True's .org portfolio, thank you Lars Nilsson for always providing me the inspiration and energy I need to grow, and thank you Paul A. Campbell for trusting me and my vision from day 1. I love this group, all it has taught and given me, and the growth it offers me to share with my community. The lessons are invaluable.

Last Friday, True Ventures provided our views to the Administration on its forthcoming "AI Action Plan," and we wanted to share it with you. Our main theme? Startup tech founders must be front and center. Startups are the engine of technological development in America, and having an AI Action Plan that protects their ability to innovate will ensure the U.S. leads this modern-day space race ????. We made four suggestions for getting there: -The plan should focus on America’s proven and successful regulatory playbook for dealing with rapid technological change (that is: practice humility and restraint, employ existing laws and existing regulators, and pass new legislation only for newly-created harms). -The plan should avoid fragmented, inconsistent, state-by-state regulation of AI, which would make doing business across the country very difficult for tech startups. -The plan should encourage rapid development of this critical infrastructure through liability protection if warranted, and through public-private partnerships that will increase the physical+cyber defense of AI companies from foreign adversaries. -And the plan should smooth out regulatory impediments to abundant, clean energy.
