True Development is a boutique certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) consulting company based in New York City and focused on affordable housing finance and development. Formed in 2018, True Development provides highly customized services to meet the needs of its clients, working both with experienced and less seasoned real estate developers. We provide targeted technical services such as financial modeling or finance applications, or when needed, broader project coordination services to help build out a client’s organizational capacity. Our projects proudly range across new construction, occupied rehabilitation (single and scattered site), multifamily workforce, senior, and supportive housing. As a mission-oriented company, True Development supports projects that bring meaningful and lasting positive impact to the neighborhoods, communities, and environment they inhabit. Shira Gidding, Owner of True Development NY, was recognized by City & State as a 2021 Rising Star in New York City Real Estate. Over the course of her 15-year career in urban planning and multifamily affordable housing development, Shira has worked with not-for-profit and for-profit organizations, City and State public finance agencies, and private finance institutions across the industry on a wide array of transactions resulting in critically needed new or rehabilitated housing in New York City. All told Shira has helped to coordinate financing for thousands of units representing over $1 billion in total project costs.
