Rest is not reserved for adults. Children and teens need downtime too. When your child gets home, it can be tempting to get them immediately involved in chores or homework-related tasks. However, this can be overwhelming for them after 8 hours of learning and social interactions at school. Instead of giving them tasks as soon as they get home, give them a break instead. Provide a snack (or make one together!) and let them relax for an hour or so. This will allow their minds to recharge before tackling their daily to-do list at home.
